I’ve designed three styles of bottle openers, great for craft brews or vintage bottled soft drinks. These hand-held sculptures make a ceremony out of opening the drink. The dragon bites off the cap, the cowboy kicks it off, and the viking conquers it.
Each opener is one-of-a-kind. The three examples below resemble the one you can purchase, yet small details make yours special! Go to MountSharonForge at Etsy.com to order one today!
Most folks think blacksmithing is dying out. Many people tell me their grandfathers or great-grandfathers were blacksmiths, as a misty look comes into their eyes. I am grateful to every blacksmith who has carried the work forward through time.
I am an artist-blacksmith, a member of ABANA, the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America. Thousands of other blacksmiths are members. They may shoe horses (they’re called farriers), they may do ornamental ironwork in a variety of shops and forges, and they may be sculptors whose works appear in homes, corporate settings, or museums.
I don’t shoe horses, but many of my blacksmith friends are outstanding farriers. I have forged useful sculptures for over 30 years, and I’ve had golden opportunities to do many larger commissions and projects. Check me out on Facebook at Mount Sharon Forge. You can see some of my work there.
Meanwhile, keep your own inner forge fire going, whatever you do!
